Under his own name, he published a cycle with the protagonist Alan Saxon and two novels about the fictional Welsh architect Merlin Richards . As Conrad Allen, he and the protagonist couple George P. Dillman and Genevieve Masefield created a series of detective novels on the luxury liners at the beginning of the 20th century. As Martin Inigo he was able to publish two more novels and, according to his own statements, the more important parts of his literary oeuvre appeared under John Marston.

Its protagonist Nicholas Bracewell , the prompter of the fictional ensemble Westfield's Men, experiences many adventures in and around the theater. In another series, which takes place in the time of Wilhelm the Conqueror , Ralph Delchard and Gervase Bret are used; who also have to face opponents when the Domesday Book is created or introduced . Another series takes place in the early days of the English railway, where two employees of Scotland Yards , Robert Colbeck and Victor Leeming, have to ensure law and order.

His restoration cycle is set in the Stuart Restoration , where Christopher Redmayne and Jonathan Bale , an architect and constable, work in London. Captain Daniel Rawson , a soldier and spy, is the hero in the eponymous cycle that Miles set in the War of the Spanish Succession (1701/14). His current last row, the Home Front Setectives Series, is set on the eve of the First World War and in which the inspectors Harvey Marmion and Joe Keedy ensure law and order.
