Cellar brewery Mitterbucher & Sons
Coordinates: 48 ° 12 ′ 40.1 ″ N , 13 ° 29 ′ 27.7 ″ E. The cellar brewery in Ried im Innkreis , Upper Austria was first mentioned in 1446. It was 100% privately owned and was considered the oldest beer brewery in Austria, which earned it an entry in the Guinness Book of Records . The predominant distribution area with around 80 catering establishments was in the Innviertel and in the Hausruckviertel , but the beer was partly also available in specialist shops nationwide.
In July 2013, the brewery announced that it would have to cease operations due to a negative future forecast for small breweries. In the same year the operation was stopped.
Types of beer
The Annenbräu was originally only served on July 26th, Annentag , later it was available all year round. The beer had an original wort of 12.3 ° and an alcohol content of 5.3% vol and was brewed in the style of Märzen beer. In 1994 it received the gold medal at the " Monde Selection " in Paris .
