The Kellett Autogiro Corporation was an American aircraft manufacturer .

history

The KAC was founded in 1929 with headquarters in Horsham ( Philadelphia ) by Wallace Kellett (1891-1951). The Kellett Autogiro Corporation initially produced gyroscopes and then developed their own helicopter models . After Kellett had given up the construction of gyroscopes and received the first order to build a helicopter with the XR-8 in May 1943 , the name changed from Kellett Autogiro Corporation to Kellett Aircraft Corporation in June 1943 . The patterns were used by the United States Army Air Forces and later by the United States Air Force . It is unclear how many years the Kellett Aircraft Corporation existed. There is also no longer any evidence that any further military contracts have been awarded since the 1960s.
