Kemal Sahin

Kemal Şahin (* 1955 in Konya , Turkey ) is a German-Turkish entrepreneur .

life and career

Şahin came to Germany in 1972 and studied at the RWTH Aachen Engineering . When he finished his studies, he was asked to leave the country. After setting up a business, which he financed with money he earned in the mining industry during the semester break, he escaped deportation. Santex GmbH , one of the world's largest textile companies, developed from the typically German-Turkish gift shop that was opened out of necessity .

In 1997 the entrepreneur became the first German entrepreneur of the year . 2004–2006 he was the first president of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce . Şahin is the founder and owner of the Sahinler Group / Sahinler Holding. In 2007 he acted as chairman of the ENTERPreis jury at engagiert-in-nrw.de.
