Ken'ichi Matsuyama ( Japanese 松山 ケ ン イ チ , Matsuyama Ken'ichi , actually 松山 研 一 ; born March 5, 1985 in Mutsu Prefecture Aomori , Japan ) is a Japanese actor . His best-known role is that of the "L" in the films Death Note , Death Note - The Last Name and L: Change the World .

Life

Matsuyama started his career as a model in 2001. In 2002 he had his first television appearance; he played a small role in the NTV drama "Gokusen", namely that of Ken'ichi Mori. But it wasn't until 2006 that he made his breakthrough with the anime film version Death Note , in which he embodies "Detective L". Matsuyama has a younger brother and sister. On April 1, 2011, he married Kato Koyuki , a fellow actress who appeared with him in the film Kamui - The Last Ninja . With her he has a son and a daughter.
