Ken Kotyk
Ken Kotyk (born February 7, 1981 in Canora ) is a Canadian bobsleigh athlete .
Ken Kotyk lives in Calgary . He started bobsleigh in 2003 and has been a member of the Canadian national team ever since. He is part of the team around the pilot Pierre Lueders as a pusher . He played volleyball and athletics at the University of Saskatchewan , where he studied kinesiology and English. His athletics trainer Todd Johnston brought him to bobsleigh. In his second World Cup race in Lake Placid , he finished sixth in the Lueders four-man bobsleigh in the top ten. So far (as of December 9, 2007) he has won four-man races in the World Cup three times. At the 2005 Bobsleigh World Championships in Calgary, he won the bronze medal in the four-man bobsleigh. The next year he narrowly missed a medal in the Lueders four in fourth at the 2006 Olympic Games . Things went better at the 2007 Bobsleigh World Championship in St. Moritz . There the Lueders four won the silver medal with Kotyk.
