Ken Sugimori

Ken Sugimori ( Japanese 杉 森 建 Sugimori Ken ; born January 27, 1966 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese illustrator , character designer and artistic director .

Among other things, he designed the character design of the main characters in the TV series Pokémon and the Pokémon characters . At Game Freak he is the artistic director and was involved in the games Pulseman , Drill Dozer and Super Smash Bros. , among others .

From 1981 to 1986 he worked as an illustrator for the fanzine game Freak . Together with its founder Satoshi Tajiri, he converted it into a game development company in 1986 and produced the game Mendel Palace .
