Kenji Arai ( Japanese 新 井 健 二 Arai Kenji ; born May 19, 1978 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Arai learned to play soccer on the school team at Tokiwa High School and the university team at Risshō University . He signed his first contract in 2001 with the Albirex Niigata . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . For the club he completed 26 league games. He then played with the Albirex Niigata (Singapore) (2004-2005), Singapore Armed Forces (2006-2009), Goa (2009-2010), Hougang United (2010) and Home United (2011-2012). At the end of 2012 he ended his career as a football player.
