Do you know Di? Women - Questions - Facts is a semi-cooperative quiz game by the German game designer Uwe Rosenberg , which was published in 2008 by Kosmos Spiele . The aim of the game is to guess as correct information as possible about points in time in the biographies of different women in public life and to give their opponents minus points.

Theme and equipment

At Do you know Di? It is a quiz game in which the players in the team have to guess or estimate points in time from the biographies of different women against a questioner and then give the questioner minus points.

In addition to a set of instructions, the game material consists of 180 character cards and thus around 300 different woman's biographies, a round game board with a border on which the numbers 00 to 99 are printed, 37 help chips, 8 best chips, four curved point bars, two arrow tiles, an evaluation pad and a pencil.

Style of play

Before the game, the round game board is placed in the middle of the table. The character cards are shuffled and placed on the table as a draw pile, from which each player takes a card and places it in such a way that the other players cannot see the previously hidden name of the woman described there. A sheet of the evaluation pad is labeled with the names of the other players and laid out, the curved scoring bars, the arrow tiles and the help and best chips are also placed next to the game board. At the start of the game, each player draws two help chips and places them face up in front of him.

Depending on the number of players, a different number of rounds is played, with each player having one turn to read or ask questions. The players take turns in clockwise order, starting with a starting player. In the first round, the respective reader gives the name of the celebrity and selects an event on the card that he or she reads out loud. In all subsequent rounds he only reads out one event without the year and the name of the woman concerned. After an event has been read out, all other players discuss the event as a team and try to guess when it took place. If you are unsure, you can use the help chips that the reader has in front of you and thus receive additional information. At the end of the consultation you decide on a year and mark it with the two arrow tiles on the game board (century and number from 00 to 99).

When the other players have decided on a result, one of the curved scoring bars is placed on the game board with the yellow field next to the year with the correct result; the color of the bar depends on the background color of the question card. The position of the arrow on the scoring bar now determines how far the result is from the correct result and how many minus points the reader gets. If the guessed result is outside the bar, the reader gets no minus points and the guessers must each draw a help chip and place it face up in front of them. All minus points are noted and the reader draws a new card for the next round at the end of his round.

After each player has read once, a round ends. The player who has received the fewest minus points in a round receives a best chip “Event with year” and places it in front of him. The other players can also choose this if they have to guess a year. The game ends after the predetermined number of rounds, the winner is the player with the fewest minus points.

Versions and reception

The game Do you know Di? was developed by the German game designer Uwe Rosenberg and was published by Kosmos Spiele in 2008 .

The game remained relatively unknown and only a few reviews dealt with it. André Beautemps wrote about the game on H@ll9000.de:

“There they are again, the two faces of Uwe R. from D. If this gifted author puts some of his devised delicacies into the intoxication of (play) depth, his works, which can be taken literally as parlor games, almost break into opposites Realms on. Truly, one should not attribute this work to depth of play. But that is certainly not the aim of the author. "

On spielkult.de one comes to the result:

“Do you know Di? is a nice game, which is especially fun with several players in a team, and is therefore certainly ideal for entertainment for the next women's evening (!) or for players who otherwise tend to use the game board less often. Thematically it is more likely to appeal to a smaller group of players, but finally reading magazines pays off. "
