Kenny Easterday

Kenneth "Kenny" Easterday (born December 7, 1973 in Aliquippa , Pennsylvania , † February 12, 2016 ) was an American film actor .

Life

Kenny Easterday was born in 1973 with the genetic defect sacrococcygeal agenesis . His spine did not develop properly, and his legs were amputated when he was six months old. At the age of 13 he starred in the semi-documentary feature film Kenny . In 1987 the film received the Grand Prix of the Americas , the UNICEF Award at the World Film Festival and the CIFEJ Prize for the best children's and youth film at the Berlin International Film Festival. In later life he did without prostheses, which hindered him more than helped him. He moved only with his hands and led an independent life.

Easterday was married twice and had two children. He lived in Virginia with his wife .
