Kepler-1229b is an exoplanet in the habitable zone of the star Kepler-1229, which is classified as a red dwarf . It is located in the constellation Cygnus ( Swan ) and is about 750 light years from Earth . Its radius is about 1.4 times the radius of the earth. The planet was discovered in 2016 by the Ames Research Center using the transit method .

Central star

The star has an estimated mass of about 0.54 M and about 0.51 R . Its surface temperature is just under 3800 K appreciated. The metallicity is around −0.06.
