Kermadec Islands Marine Reserve

The Kermadec Islands Marine Reserve (KIMR), occasionally also called Kermadec Marine Reserve , is New Zealand's largest marine reserve .
It includes the water in the archipelago of north of the North Island lying Kermadec Islands , from the island coast to a distance of 12 nautical miles . It thus covers an area of 745,000 ha (7450 km²). The Kermadec Islands Marine Reserve was established in November 1990 and is administered by the New Zealand Department of Conservation .
