The Kermi GmbH develops, produces and sells radiators , heating systems and plumbing products. Kermi employs around 1300 people at its headquarters in Plattling , Lower Bavaria .

According to brand eins , Kermi is one of the largest employers in the Lower Bavaria region (as of May 2008).

history

Beginnings

In 1960, Kurt Kerschl and two other shareholders founded Kermi as a manufacturer of heating oil tanks in Plattling. The company has been producing radiators since 1967.

In 1973 the company was taken over by Salzgitter AG and began producing shower enclosures in 1976 .

After the merger of Salzgitter and the Preussag Group in 1989, Kermi became a subsidiary of the Preussag Group. In the 1990s, the company expanded its range to include bathroom radiators, convectors and heating walls.

Development into a manufacturer of energy systems

Since the takeover of Kermi GmbH by Arbonia AG in July 2001, underfloor heating systems have also been offered. With the purchase of the Czech heat pump manufacturer PZP Heating (Dobré), Kermi expanded its product range to include system solutions in the field of heat pumps.

The current chairman of the management board is Knut Bartsch, who has worked in various areas of Arbonia AG since 2004 .

Corporate structure

In 1988 a foreign branch was founded in Great Britain , followed by further companies in the Czech Republic and Poland (since 1996). Sales companies have existed in Kazakhstan and China since 2005, and in Russia since 2011 .

Via Arbonia Deutschland GmbH, Plattling, Kermi GmbH has been a subsidiary of the Swiss Arbonia-Forster-Holding, now Arbonia , based in Arbon since 2001 .
