Stefan Verra (born April 2, 1973 in Lienz in East Tyrol ) is an Austrian author , coach , speaker and body language expert .

Life

Stefan Verra is the son of a sculptor . He spent his childhood and youth in his hometown Lienz. After graduating from high school , he studied drums and music education in Klagenfurt and Vienna. He graduated from both in 1997. Until 2000 he was a professional musician . He then placed sales trainers in companies. Since 2007 he has worked as a speaker, coach and body language expert.

Stefan Verra was a lecturer at the Steinbeis University in Berlin from 2011–2015 . He was a lecturer at Heilbronn University , Künzelsau campus, and guest lecturer at the University of Bern , the University of Basel , Mainz , the Technical University of Nuremberg and at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich .

He is an “opinion maker” in Manager Magazin and analyzes body language signals and the like. a. for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Süddeutsche Zeitung , NZZ , Der Standard and Kurier .

Verra supports the Swiss Childhood Cancer Aid and parents of autistic children.

Stefan Verra describes body language primarily on the basis of neurological and anatomical (i.e. muscular) processes and differentiates between functional and non-functional body language. He also represents cross-connections between neurological ( homunculus ) and muscular (tonic, phasic muscle fibers) properties as well as evolutionary developments and behaviors of humans and animals (e.g. Frans de Waal ). Accordingly, Verra also gave lectures at medical congresses.
