Core-plasma relation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nucleus-plasma ratio is the volume ratio of cell and nucleus . Depending on the cell type, the volume of the cell nucleus is between 1% for fat cells and 50% for very small cells such as lymphocytes or microglial cells . As a rule, the cell nucleus has between 5 and 10% of the volume of the cell. When assessing tissue atypia , the core-plasma ratio is an important feature.
