Kerugoya is a city in Kenya . It is the capital of Kirinyaga County .

location

Keruyoga is located 10 kilometers east of Karatina and 40 kilometers west of Embu on the C 74 road connecting Karatina and Kutus . The border with Mount Kenya National Park in the north is about 7 km away.

Political structure

Kerugoya forms a joint administrative unit with the municipality of Kutus called "Municipality of Kerugoya / Kutus". According to the 1999 census, 39,441 people live in the municipality . The parish has six districts: Kerugoya Center, Kerugoya North, Kerugoya South, Kutus South, Kutus Center and Nduini. Most of these districts belong to the Kerugoya / Kutus constituency. Kerugoya is also the seat of the Central Division of the Kirinyaga District.
