Embu is a city in Kenya , about 120 kilometers northeast of Nairobi , in the direction of Mount Kenya . Embu is the capital of Embu County .
The city is located on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya and has 41,092 inhabitants.
The city is known for its jacaranda trees , which transform the city into a sea of flowers during the flowering period. After the rainy phase, which is usually in October and November of each year, they lose their leaves and bloom brightly.
The city is fed by the Ruvingaci . There is the Njukiriwald the west and the Muthatari the east, both within ten kilometers.
There are also some educational institutions within the Embus city limits. These include the Kangaru Schools, College and University, East College, Nguviu Boys School, and Embu Lions Primary School.
There are also many, partly large Christian churches in the city, for example the Anglican's St. Paul's Cathedral and the Roman Catholic bishopric . The Catholic Cathedral has a Pan-African design and is one of the largest churches in all of Africa .
