The Kettelersche Kuria on Domplatz in Münster was built from 1712 to 1716 by the builder Lambert Friedrich Corfey . The builder was Vicar General Nikolaus Hermann von Ketteler zu Harkotten , he decided in 1711 to build a curia on his property . The building still belongs to the Episcopal Vicariate General and is used as a residence and archive. In the immediate vicinity of the Episcopal Palace , it forms a great ensemble in the cathedral courtyard.

history

Before that, Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius had also submitted a plan that was not implemented, but became the basis for Lambert Friedrich Corfey's planning. The two-storey three-wing complex made of bricks and sandstone has an eaves height of 10.45 m. In the shape of a horseshoe, it encloses a courtyard of honor (Cour d'honneur), which is blocked by a large grid. The building is divided into two parts: two open staircases lead to the central wing, but they do not destroy the axis symmetry.

The crests of the Ketteler and von Schade families can be found in the gable of the central projectile .
