Kevin Abosh (2018)

Kevin Abosch (born December 1969 in Los Angeles ) is an Irish- American conceptual artist .

Life

Kevin Abosch's mother is an Irish woman from Mayo . Born in Los Angeles, he grew up in the United States but spent summers in Limerick and Dublin . He has both US and Irish citizenship. In the early 1990s Abosch lived in Germany, where he met the British artist David Hockney , with whom he later worked.

In addition to his art, Abosch is also an entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder of the internet communication platform Kwikdesk and the messaging app OneOne, both of which place particular emphasis on the privacy of the user. He is also the creative director of Animoca Brands .

Abosch currently lives in New York City.

Abosch's work includes photographs (portraits and still lifes), films, sculptures and installations. He often addresses the blockchain in his works . His works were u. a. Exhibited at the Center for Art and Media , the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg , the National Gallery of Ireland , the Irish Museum of Modern Art , the Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina , the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá and at Dublin Airport .

At the PRICELESS plant , he worked with Ai Weiwei .
