Kevin Henkes
Kevin Henkes (born November 27, 1960 in Racine, Wisconsin ) is an American writer and illustrator.
Life
Kevin Henkes grew up in Racine and studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison . He is married to artist Laura Dronzek, they have two children and live in Madison , Wisconsin.
Henkes published his first picture book All Alone in 1981 . Since then he has written and illustrated more than thirty books for children and young people.
Henkes' books have won several awards, including a 2004 John Newbery Award for Olive's Ocean and a Caldecott Medal in 2005 for Kitten's First Full Moon . In Germany it said ... and then Joselle was on the nomination list for the German Youth Literature Prize .
