Khatuna Mikaberidze

Khatuna Mikaberidze ( Georgian ხათუნა მიქაბერიძე , correct Chatuna Mikaberidze ; born September 23, 1972 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ) is a Georgian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Khatuna Mikaberidze studied singing at the Tbilisi State Conservatory with Gotcha Bejuaschwili until she graduated in 1997 and took singing lessons from Galina Vishnevskaya and Christa Ludwig . From 1995 to 1999 she was a soloist at the Opera in Batumi , and from 1999 to 2001 a soloist at the State Opera Theater in Tbilisi. In 2001 she moved from Georgia to Germany, where she started as a soloist at the Meininger Theater (Dorabella, Jezibaba, Brangäne) from 2001 to 2003 .

From 2003 to 2006 she moved to the Landestheater Linz (Carmen, Jezibaba, Grand Duchess von Gerolstein, Orlowsky). Since 2006 she has been a soloist at the Hanover State Opera (Eboli, Carmen, Venus, Hexe in Hansel and Gretel , La Madre in Il Prigioniero , Fricka in Das Rheingold / Die Walküre , Waltraute in Die Götterdämmerung ). Guest engagements took her to the Dortmund Opera in 2001 (Azucena in Il Trovatore ), in 2003 and 2006 to the Vienna Volksoper (La Madre in Il Prigioniero by Dallapiccola and Chipra in Gypsy Baron ), and in 2005 to the Frankfurt Opera (La Madre in Il Prigioniero ) in 2008 the Den Norske Opera Oslo (Eboli in Don Carlos ), 2009 to the Split Opera Festival (Eboli in Don Carlos ) and the Theater Bremen (Amneris in Aida ).
