Khushab (Urdu: خُوشاب) is the capital of Khushab district in Punjab Province in Pakistan .
history
Hushab is believed to have been founded in 1503 and the city's defensive wall was built in 1593. There have often been floods throughout history that completely destroyed the city. In 1867, Khushab became a district town. In the 21st century, a nuclear power plant was built near the city, which is an important part of Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. Presumably, the facility can produce small, short-range atomic bombs.
