Khuzdar (Urdu: خضدار) is the capital district Khuzdar in the province of Balochistan in Pakistan . It is the third largest city in Balochistan after Quetta and Turbat . The majority of the population belongs to the Brahui .
history
Khuzdar was the capital of the Brahui kingdom of Makran .
It was part of the Jhalawan Kingdom in the early 17th century, but soon fell under the Kalat Khanate , where it remained until a series of revolts during the reign of Khudadad Khan (1857-1893). In 1896, after Khudadad's death, Kalat's authority was restored. Khuzdar was the capital and largest city of Jhalawan Province in the Kalat Khanate.
Under a treaty with Kalat, the British appointed a political official in Khuzdar in 1903. British influence lasted until 1947, after which the Pakistan area was annexed.
