Kichiji Tamasu

Kichiji Tamasu ( Japanese 田 舛 吉 二 , Tamasu Kichiji ; * around 1935, † January 1956 ) was a Japanese table tennis player . With the team he won the gold medal twice at world championships .

Tamasu won the individual competition of the Japanese high school championship in 1951. In 1953 he won the Asian Championships together with Yoshiko Tanaka in mixed and with the team. The Japanese Association nominated him for the 1954 and 1955 World Championships . At both events he was world champion in the team competition. Especially at the 1955 World Cup, he was only used in important team fights. In the final he won against Ladislav Štípek .

In 1956, Tamasu died of a heart attack at the age of 21 .
