location

The place was south of Berlin . Since Kienberg was adjacent to Berlin-Schönefeld Airport and Berlin Brandenburg Airport to the south, it was directly in its noise pollution zone.

history

Kienberg was first mentioned in a document in 1848 and at that time it was part of the rule of King Wusterhausen . According to the files, the "establishment" was "rebuilt by the owner of the farm Tesmer on the field of the community of Waltersdorf". In 1858, 24 people lived there. In 1860 the homestead consisted of two residential and two farm buildings. In 1925, 31 people lived in the village.

In 1957 it became a residential area, and in 1970 it became part of the community of Waltersdorf.

The settlement had to be demolished with the construction of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The residents were relocated to Rotberg-Süd by December 31, 2008 . An industrial area with a concrete plant and a track system that leads to the airport was created on the district. Kienberg is on the Glasower Damm Ost – Bohnsdorf Süd railway line .
