The basketball club Kifisia ( Greek ΚΑΕ Κηφισιά ), Kifisia BC for short, is a Greek basketball team from Kifisia . With the club colors red and white, the club already played in the top national league of the Basket League .

history

In February 1994, locals from Kifisia founded the sports club Athlitiki Enosi Neas Kifisias ( Greek Αθλητική Ένωση Νέας Κηφισιάς , German: Sports Association New Kifisia). For reasons of sponsorship , better known as AENK Dimoulas . In the summer of 2015 the club was renamed Kifisia or Kifisia BC . He is still known under the name Kifisia Dimoulas .

The sports association installed a men's team in 1996. Three years later, the team celebrated its first regional promotion. After further sporting successes in the following years, the sports association achieved promotion to the top division in the 2013/14 season, while the team managed to rise a total of six times in the nine years before to achieve this goal. In their debut season, the association finished fifth at the end of the season. After some talents had left the club, it was only enough for eleventh place in the following season 2014/15 , but was able to prevent the class relegation. With sixth place at the end of the main round in the 2015/16 season , the club qualified again for the playoffs . The club owes this success to players such as Dustin Hogue , Nikos Gikas , Leonidas Kaselakis and Andreas Glyniadakis . But these were not able to prevent the elimination in the first round against Aris Saloniki . By participating in the playoffs, the club had at least secured participation in the qualifying round of the first-ever Basketball Champions League . However, due to financial difficulties, Kifisia waived this option and announced a few weeks later that it would no longer participate in the Basket League competition. Thus, the club rose again after three years of participation from the first division.
