Coordinates: 33 ° 8 ′  S , 136 ° 25 ′  E The District Council of Kimba is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 3,986 km² and has around 1,100 inhabitants (2016).

Kimba is located in the north of the Eyre Peninsula about 290 kilometers as the crow flies northwest of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 16 hamlets and villages: Barna, Buckleboo, Caralue, Cootra, Coorobinnie, Cortlinye, Cunyarie, Kelly, Kimba, Moseley, Panitya, Peela, Pinkawillinie, Solomon, Wilcherry and Yalanda. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the village of Kimba in the eastern half of the LGA, where around 600 people live (2016).

The Kimba council has seven members, the six councilors and the chairman and mayor of the council are elected by the residents of the LGA. Kimba is not divided into districts.
