from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kinema Jumpō Prizes ( Japanese. キ ネ マ 旬報 ベ ス ト ・ テ ン , Kinema jumpō besuto ten , Ger . "The best ten of the Kinema Jumpō") are national Japanese film prizes that have been awarded since 1925 . They are therefore older than the Japanese Academy Awards and even older than the US Academy Awards . The awards were initiated by Kinema Jumpō magazine . The award ceremony takes place annually in February. The only interruptions were the war years from 1944 to 1946. Since 1973 there has been an audience award in addition to the regular categories.
