King Pepe (born Simon Hari in Thun on March 1, 1976 ) is a Swiss musician , composer , lyricist and singer .

Artistic development

For his debut album “Blöd im Chopf” in 2007, he recorded all the instruments in his apartment himself and released the album on the label “Big Money Records” founded especially for this purpose. Since 2010 he has been publishing his albums with the Lucerne publishing house “ Der Gesundheit Menschenversand ” and gives concerts in changing formations, formerly with “Subjects A, B and C” (2009 to 2012) and with the jazz band “Le Rex” (2013 to 2017).

King Pepe mostly sings in Bern German . In 2011 he landed his first underground hit with “Büssi” .

In addition to his activities as King Pepe, Simon Hari plays and sings in other formations, including “Trampeltier of Love”, “Lekker Zukker” and “Captain Frank”. He is also a composer of theater music, among others, in “Sex in times of the apocalypse” (2010, collaboration with Meret Matter ) and musicals such as “Fortunately - A musical to save the world” (2012, collaboration with Meret Matter) or “Sit so guet, svp »(2017, collaboration with Matto Kämpf , Raphael Urweider and Dennis Schwabenland ).
