Serge Leroy

Serge Leroy (born May 14, 1937 in Paris , France , † May 27, 1993 ibid) was a French film director .

Live and act

Leroy, who had been making a name for himself as a specialist in hard “man's stuff” since the early 1970s, originally came from documentary, journalistic reporting. At the beginning of the 1960s, the Parisian joined the team on the “Cinq colonnes à la une” television series after he had drawn attention to himself with an Alaska report for Belgian television. He then went to the state television company ORTF and shot over 200 reports there, but also for other broadcasters such as RTB, Radio Canada and SSR. His best-known works from these early years include the account of the investigation into the murder of John F. Kennedy and another report on Vietnam . In 1967 Serge Leroy received a press award for the fairy tale film "Pierre et le loup" (Peter and the Wolf) with the Belgian chanson singer Jacques Brel as the narrator.

From 1970 Serge Leroy directed movies. “There he convinced with realistic descriptions of social conditions, especially in the gangster milieu.
