It contains the game Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance , released on Nintendo 3DS in 2012 , the new game Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage, and an HD film called Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover . Kingdom Hearts 2.8 was released in Japan on January 12, 2017, and in North America and Europe on January 24 of the same year. The game is coming to Sony's PlayStation 4 . There was a limited edition for pre-orderers: the game and a trailer from Dream Drop Distance .

Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and continues until Kingdom Hearts III . Aqua is trapped in the dark, looking for a way out. She also meets King Mickey in her adventure. The game runs on the Unreal 4 engine , the same engine that Kingdom Hearts III is supposed to use. Many refer to this game as a demo for Kingdom Hearts .
