Kingencleugh House
Kingencleugh House is a country house near the eastern part of the city Mauchline in the Scottish management unit East Ayrshire . Kingencleugh House is a Category C Historic Building.
history
The country house was built around 1765 on the site of the old Kingencleugh Castle . In 1957 it was converted into a widow's house for the Ballochmyle estate according to plans by the architect Mervyn Noad .
The helmet gem of the Baronets Hagart-Alexander von Ballochmyle , the builder and owner of the country house, is an elephant . He appears above the entrance to the country house.
