Kingsland Holdings
Kingsland Holdings Ltd. is a corporation headquartered in Nassau , Bahamas . It is organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas .
Kingsland is a special purpose vehicle established to manage the shares in Avianca Holdings held by the Salvadoran Kriete family . Kingsland currently owns 21.9 percent of the voting common stock in Avianca Holdings, representing 14.5 percent of the total outstanding shares, and is Avianca's second largest shareholder as of May 2019.
Avianca Holdings SA and Kingsland Holdings Ltd. attracted attention in 2016/2017 when the two companies landed before the Supreme Court of New York State , which was about the payment modality and the financial future of the Colombian airline Avianca . In November 2017, the contracting parties agreed to withdraw their complaints and to continue negotiations on a personal level. The parties then jointly reached a decision with the court that dismissed the claim without prejudice.
