Kippenberger! An Excess of the Moment is a play by director Angela Richter .
The world premiere took place on October 11, 2013 at the Schauspiel Köln . The play deals with the life of the artist Martin Kippenberger (1953–1997). A book accompanying the play was published by the Walther König bookshop .

Angela Richter interviewed friends, companions, victims and enemies of Martin Kippenberger and created a two-hour production out of it. The play is mainly about the permanent excesses that ultimately led to the artist's early death and the glorious 1980s art years in Cologne , when the art world looked at Cologne.
