Murchin Church
The Murchin Church is a listed church building in Murchin in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern . It belongs to the parish of Pinnow -Murchin of the Demmin provost in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District .
building
The current church building was erected in 1604 as a rectangular brick building with field stones . The outer walls are plastered. The hall church with a gable roof is 13 meters long and 9 meters wide. According to Ernst von Haselberg's description , the church had an ogival west entrance in 1885, above which was the year 1604. This was rebuilt in 1957 to be segmented . The windows on both sides and above the entrance were changed. On the north and south sides there are two segment-arched windows with bevelled reveal . An arched entrance door in the middle of the south side and an arched segment window in the east gable, two further and two round windows in the roof gable above were added during the renovation in 1957. In front of the blocked entrance there is a plaque commemorating the victims of the two world wars.
Furnishing
The pulpit altar dates from the 18th century, as are probably the church stalls and the organ gallery . There are columns and pilasters placed on the pulpit . The sound cover and back wall have acanthus decor .
A wooden relief, which probably comes from an altarpiece or a pulpit, is dated to the beginning of the 17th century. It shows the blessing of Pharaoh by Jacob, the progenitor of the Israelites .
Peal
The ringing consists of a bell that is located in a free-standing wooden belfry west of the church. It was cast in 1448.
