The Church of the Holy Righteous Theodor Ushakov ( Russian Храм святого праведного воина Феодора Ушакова ) is a Russian Orthodox Church of the Simferopol and Crimea eparchy located in Novofyodorovka .
history
The former Soviet aviation garrison Saki-4 was reorganized on December 12, 1992 in the urban-type settlement and was given the name Novofyodorovka. The settlement's Russian Orthodox community, which was registered in 2001, originally had no church and no priest. Residents had to visit the church in Saki . In 2006, the mayor Lyudmila Erofeeva asked the metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Lasar to send a priest to Novofyodorovka. A secular building was temporarily used for services that were held from July 10, 2006.
In March 2010 the construction of the Church of the Holy Righteous Theodor Ushakov began in the center of Novofyodorovka . He was a Russian admiral and is a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church . The large church with 5 domes was built in the Old Russian style . The church was consecrated on January 20, 2015 by Metropolitan Lasar .
