Rainer Wilder

Rainer Wahmen (* 1961 in Freudenstadt ) is a German graduate in administration , journalist, film producer and author .

Life

Rainer Wilder was born as the son of a postal inspector and descendant of Heinrich Schickhardt in Freudenstadt. After attending the Kepler Gymnasium in Freudenstadt and passing the Abitur at the Erasmus Gymnasium in Denzlingen , he switched to the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Kehl in 1981 . After completing his degree in administration, he first worked in public administration and then became a radio editor and television presenter. He has worked for NBC Super Channel, Dutch television EO, MDR and RTL, among others. Since 1997 he has been a master trainer for modern manners. From 2004 to 2015 he was editor of the reference work “Der Große Knigge” (Verlag der Deutschen Wirtschaft), is a co-founder and since 2006 chairman of the German Knigge Council.

He has been working as a freelance film producer and author since 1997. He has made over 200 travel reports and numerous documentaries that have received international awards. His television series "Around the World in 115 Days" won the 2009 World Media Award . According to FOCUS, he is one of the makers of success in 2009 and one of the top 100 speakers in Germany for Speakers Excellence. His documentary “Schweizer Lichtgestalten” about reformers in Switzerland received the 2017 World Media Award in silver. His film "In the Blessing of the Irish Monks: Columban and Gallus Change Europe" also received a silver globe at the "World Media Festival".

His first wife Bettina died of cancer in 1998. Together they had decided to set up an initiative for other affected people, from which "proLIFE" arose. In 2001 he married his second wife, the parish deacon Ilona Dörr-Wilder. They founded the TYP Academy, expanded it into a franchise company and thus became the market leader in German-speaking countries.

Since 2017 he has been the director of the “Gutshof Akademie” in Frielendorf- Großropperhausen , which sees itself as a center for those seeking meaning and the “Gutshof Kapelle”, which is open to pilgrims every day.
