Novofedoriwka ( Ukrainian Новофедорівка ; Russian Новофёдоровка / Novofjodorowka ; Crimean Tatar Novofödorovka ) is an urban-type settlement and a military airfield in the Crimea .
In 1942 the staff of the German Kampfgeschwader 100 was at this airfield, then called "Flugplatz Saki". This is where US President Franklin D. Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill landed at the Yalta Conference .
The settlement was founded in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union from the military airfield of the same name ( ICAO code UKFI) of the Black Sea Fleet . The Russian naval aviators operate a training facility for aircraft carrier take- offs and landings there.
The Church of the Holy Righteous Theodor Ushakov is located in Novofyodorovka .
