Kirovske (Ukrainian Кіровське - Ukrainian officially since May 12, 2016 Isljam-Terek / Іслям-Терек; Russian Кировское / Kirowskoje , Crimean Tatar Islam Terek ) is an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of the same name Rajons east of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea , Ukraine with about 7,000 inhabitants.

Kirovsk is in the east of the Crimea, the distance to Simferopol , the western capital of the Crimea, is 102 km.
history
The first mention of Islam-Direk , later Isljam-Terek (Ukrainian Іслям-Терек ), the name of the village at that time, comes from the year 1783. In the 1840s, a settlement was founded by German colonists on the local area, this became Neudorf called.
Since 1892 the place has had a railway station on the Kherson – Kerch railway line , in 1935 it became the center of the Rajon and since 1957 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
After the occupation by German troops in 1941 during the Second World War , the place was recaptured in 1944 and the name was renamed Kirovskoye in the course of Russification efforts in honor of the Soviet functionary Sergei Kirov .
The Ukrainian Falcons , the aerobatic team of the Ukrainian Armed Forces , were stationed at the airfield south of the village ( Lage ) from 1995 to 2014 .
