Vozhod (Russian and Ukrainian Восход ) is an urban-type settlement with 481 inhabitants in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea . The village is located 7 km northeast of Yalta , on the subtropical south coast of the Crimean peninsula .
Since the internationally unrecognized annexation of the Crimean peninsula to Russia in March 2014, Vozhod has de facto belonged to the federation of Southern Russia of the Russian Federation. De jure, according to the administrative-territorial division of Ukraine, Vozhod is part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea , which is one of the territories occupied by Russia.
history
The place was founded in 1920 and briefly belonged to the Taurian Governorate , which existed until October 1921. After the establishment of the Soviet Union , it was part of the ASSR of the Crimea (later Crimean Oblast) within the Russian SFSR . In 1971 Vozhod received the status of an urban-type settlement .
By resolution of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Treaty of Pereyaslav , Vozhod and the Crimean Oblast were annexed to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic on April 26, 1954 . From 1991 to 2014 Vozhod was part of independent Ukraine.
As a result of the Crimean crisis , Vozhod has been under Russian control since March 21, 2014.
