history

The composer Dmitri Dmitrijewitsch Schostakowitsch stayed here in 1937 and composed his 5th symphony . Even Leo Tolstoy lived there from 1901 to 1902. In the small town Gaspra particularly the Sanatorium " Yasnaya Polyana " is important.

The asteroid (951) Gaspra is named after the place.

Attractions

In Gaspra there is the swallow's nest , a castle and now a landmark for the greater Yalta area .
