Kungslena Church

The church of Kungslena is located about 12 kilometers northwest of the city of Tidaholm ( Sweden ) in the village of Kungslena .

According to tradition, the church of Kungslena was built by King Erik the lisp and lame in the middle of the 13th century in memory of the battle of Lena . The current roof of the church with the three ridge turrets was built later (probably in the 16th century).

The interior of the church is partly medieval , partly late baroque . The door to the sacristy with artfully forged fittings , the baptismal font and a Madonna sculpture as well as fragmentary wall paintings are medieval, while the ceiling paintings by church painter Johan Risberg from 1749 as well as the altar and pulpit are late Baroque .
