history
Kungslena, originally Lena until the 17th century (etymologically derived from len meaning 'slope'), has a well-preserved, somewhat ancient village character. The center of the village is the medieval church and the royal court. Above the village are the ruins of the medieval Lena Castle.
The Battle of Lena took place near Lena in 1208 and is commemorated by a monument in the village.
