The parish Nätra ( Swedish Nätra socken ) is a Swedish parish and has been part of the municipality of Örnsköldsvik since 1971 . The parish has an area of 382 square kilometers and is located on the lower reaches of the Nätraån . Larger places are Köpmanholmen , Åmynnet and Bjästa with the main church of the parish, the Nätra kyrka in Bjästa.

The parish was founded in the Middle Ages , in the 14th century the parish Sidensjö was separated . Pastors from Nätra were responsible for services in Ulvöhamn and Trysunda . In the middle of the 19th century, the ecclesiastical tasks were transferred to the parish Nätra , the secular ones to the rural community Nätra (Nätra landskommun). In 1952, the rural municipality of Sidensjö became part of the rural municipality of Nätra, and this in turn became part of the newly formed municipality Örnsköldsvik on January 1, 1971 .

The annual Nätra marknad in August was the most important market in Ångermanland . Local farmers, traveling salesmen , Sami and Gävle fishermen sold their products here. Linen products , whose production in the area around Nätra took place from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century , played a special role. A modern market has been held annually in mid-July since 1942, with around 30,000 visitors over the three days. Today it takes place at the small settlement Kornsjöstrand on Lake Kornsjösjön, a good four kilometers west of Bjästa.
