The Carriage Museum in Schwabsoien

The Carriage Museum in Schwabsoien in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau presents more than 30 carriages and sledges from different eras as well as driving accessories and relevant tools on three floors with approx. 300 m² of exhibition space . Especially the carriages from the heyday of the carriage builders from the 18th and 19th centuries arouse admiration due to their careful workmanship and their beauty.

The private museum, which is part of the Auerbergland Museum Association, was opened in 2004. The initiator and operator of the museum is Johann Hartmann. Guided tours through the museum are possible by telephone arrangement and on Whit Monday (mill day in Schwabsoien). The vehicles on display were laboriously and painstakingly restored and refurbished. The carriages are still used today for parades in the area.
