Church ways

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kirchwege are an approximately 110 km long network of hiking trails , which are mainly located in the central valley of the Alz around Trostberg in Upper Bavaria .

Network of hiking trails

The church paths form a network of largely car and bicycle-free footpaths. Many of these are old paths, meadow, field and forest paths that had long been forgotten and were rediscovered and revived by the initiator of the project, Mr. Burkhard Schnell from Trostberg. In order to improve orientation for hikers, part of the network of hiking trails has already been marked in accordance with the guidelines of the Bavarian Hiking Association .

Care by volunteers

The church paths are maintained by the Alz-Ruperti-Wanderwege-Verein eV based in Trostberg. The association regularly offers guided hikes on the church paths.
