Kirowez ( Russian Кировец ) is a tractor brand of the Kirowwerke (until 1934 Putilow-Werke) in Saint Petersburg . Internationally, the company uses the English transcription Kirovets , other well-known spellings are Kirowetz or Kirovetz . Today the manufacturer operates under the name of ZAO Petersburger Traktorenwerk .

The production of tractors began in 1926 following a resolution by Lenin . Until 1932, the factory produced its type F tractor under the Fordson-Putilowez name under license from Ford . From 1934 the name Kirov-Werk was used. Tractors manufactured from this point on were given the Kirowez brand name.

From 1962 the heavy tractor K-700 was produced, the basic structure of which was adopted in the following models. Over 400,000 tugs have been produced since 1962. The current model is the K-744 , which is offered with outputs from 250 to 420 hp.
