Kirsten Spott

Kirsten Spott (born June 25, 1963 in Stralsund ) is a German writer and teacher.

Life

Kirsten Spott grew up in Zerbst , where she graduated from high school . She wrote her first stories at the age of twelve. From 1983 to 1988 she studied pedagogy in Potsdam and then worked as a teacher for music and German in Berlin until 1995 . In 1995 she moved to Glashütte and has been teaching music and German at the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium Dresden since then .

In 2008 she published her literary debut with the short story volume Die Philosophie des Zufall , which deals with the influence of chance on the lives of individual protagonists in 15 stories. In January 2010 the volume was released in the shadow of silence , which contains three stories. They are dedicated to the topic of meeting. Her centerpiece followed in the summer of 2011, the fantasy novel Merlins Erben ; the novel is about two protagonists who end up in another world that was prophesied for them to be saved. The cover picture was designed by Spott's husband.

Kirsten Spott is married and has a daughter.
