Yasunari Kitaura

Yasunari Kitaura ( Japanese 北浦康成 , Kitaura Yasunari ; born May 25, 1937 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese art historian, expert in the European Renaissance and Aikidō teacher (8th Dan) of the Aikikai Honbu Dojo, Shihan of Aikikai in Spain , awarded by the Cultural Association of Aikido in Spain (AEA), which was founded by him.

biography

He studied at Waseda University and obtained his PhD in Art History from Complutense University in Madrid. He has published several books and articles on the history of European, Japanese and Chinese art.

He was trained by the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba and his son Kisshomaru Ueshiba. In 1967 he went to Madrid on a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deepen his studies in the history of European art. In the same year he introduced Aikidō in Spain and pushed its spread with the special support of Kisshomaru Ueshiba and Moriteru Ueshiba, who visited Spain several times. It is worth mentioning that the Dr. honoris causa of the Polytechnic University of Valencia to Kisshomaru Ueshiba in 1992, which is also a sign of the spread of Aikidō in Spain. In his more than 40 years in Spain, Yasunari Kitaura has trained and educated numerous experts in this discipline.
