The Kitt Peak ( Ioligam in the language of the Tohono O'odham ) is a 2097 m high mountain in Pima County in the US state of Arizona . It serves as the location of the Kitt Peak National Observatory .
history
The mountain got its English name from the surveyor George J. Roskruge, who noted it on his map of Pima County from 1893 under the name Kits .
